Contrary to what some might hope, these movies don't look "perfect" on Blu-ray. Both movies have been digitally restored in the process of preparing the 16:9 1080p versions showen here, but even the latest technology can only do so much with 20-year-old film masters. To scrub out every single scratch and speck of dust the decades have left behind would require the kind of Cecil B. De Mille operation that costs far more than a production like this could ever make back.
